Emergency Plan
Statistics show that just 4% of Americans have an emergency kit and just 11% have an emergency plan!

  • Develop an emergency communications and disaster plan with your family
  • Establish an out-of-area friend or relative as a single point of contact to coordinate family messages
  • Determine meeting places and escape routes for you and your family if you become separated
  • Create an emergency contact list of family and friends, including fire, police, and hospitals
  • Prepare a disaster-supplies kit to sustain your family for three to seven days. Also prepare kits for your work and car
  • Items for kits include water, food, flashlight, batteries, a battery-powered radio, first-aid kit and medicines, a change of clothing, extra keys, duct tape, plastic sheeting and important documents
  • Be alert to suspicious activity and report it to local law enforcement
  • Continue normal activities but be aware of your surroundings
