Fire Academy

Central County Fire & Rescue is an active participating member of the St. Charles County Fire Academy.

The St. Charles County Fire Academy Firefighter I and II Program follows the traditional school year beginning in September with certification testing and graduation in June. Classes are held on Monday and Thursday nights from 7 to 10 PM, and two Saturdays per month from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Cadet candidates may be eligible for admission into the program through sponsorship by one of the eleven fire districts or departments in St. Charles County. The application period is open from July 1 through July 31 by following the directions in the application packets, which are available beginning June 15 through one of the sponsoring fire districts/departments. Only cadets with applications signed by the sponsoring agency's fire chief, and being at least 18 years of age, possessing a high school diploma and current CPR certification, and meeting all the requirements outlined in the packets will be eligible for admission.

For further information on the academy, visit their website www.sccesa.org/fire_academy.html
