Emergency Beacon Program

Central County Fire & Rescue has partnered with the City of St Peters, Mid-East Area Agency on Aging (MEAAA)(501(c)(3), and the Veterans of Foreign Wars(VFW) to bring the residents of St Peters the Emergency Beacon Program.  The program provides an Emergency Beacon Bulb for St Peters Seniors, Medically Disabled, and Spouses of our War fighters

The Emergency Beacon Bulb is a new home safety product that can save precious seconds when you need help. The Emergency Beacon Bulb replaces your front porch light bulb. Under normal circumstances, it works just like an ordinary light bulb; however, in an emergency, simply turn your light switch off and on three times, and your outdoor light instantly becomes a flashing signal for help. When activated, your flashing porch light becomes a signal for fire, police and ambulance personnel to quickly find your home and could also alert neighbors, and even passers-by to an emergency situation. It's ideal for any home, especially those with seniors...children...or the disabled. Most importantly, it means that once you've called for help, you don't have to leave your home to go outside to signal your location. The Emergency Beacon Light is not a substitute for dialing 911. Parents who have young children should take the time to instruct them how to activate the system and caution them on utilizing the "Emergency Beacon Bulb" only in emergencies.

All that is required is filling out a qualification form indicating status as a Senior, Medical Disability, or Spouse of a service man or woman currently serving in a war zone, and that you are a resident of the City of St Peters.
