The St. Peters/Central County Community Emergency Response Team is currently accepting applications for the next CERT Training Course. Interested individuals should contact Assistant Chief Steve Brown at 636-970-9700, ext 403 for more information and an application.

The course will be beginning on January 14, 2010 and be held each Thursday evening from 7:00 pm till 10:00 pm for eight weeks, ending on March 4th, 2010. Each class will be held at the Central County Fire and Rescue fire station #3 located at 511 Willott Road, St. Peters.

The registration fee is $25 and the course is limited to the first 25 registrations received.

Each participant will be issued emergency preparedness equipment and a student manual. Each participant will receive hands on training on the following topics:

• Disaster preparedness o Fire safety/suppression
• Disaster medical operations
• Light search and rescue
• Team organization
• Disaster psychology
• Hands on disaster exercise
